NON EMDR TRAINING

Somatic Therapy

Supporting Healing Through the Body-Mind Connection

Join Alison Leslie, on a two-day journey to deepen your knowledge and understanding of how the body stores and holds trauma and learn ways to support and guide the healing process with somatic therapy. You will be invited to explore the history of somatic therapy and begin to acknowledge what happens to our internal sense of being when trauma occurs. We will explore memory networks and somatic markers of past trauma and identify ways the threat response cycle can get stuck during these experiences.

This course was recorded on May 30-31, 2024.

Available for asynchronous-on demand learning.

Designed to help you and your client explore the experience of internal sensations, grow the capacity to notice comfortable sensations, and become more experienced with them.

Course Details

Many of our clients have learned adaptive ways to stay outside of the body or shut down the internal experience, which leaves them stuck and unable to experience the joys of life. This training will aid you in guiding the client to come back into contact with their own internal healing cycle and begin to live more fully in the world around them, with care and compassion.

The structure of the body will be discussed, and you will gain awareness of how to gently help the body tell the story it has been holding onto and find the resolution that is needed in healing. Specific techniques and interventions will be taught through discussion, experiential activities, and demonstrations to help you feel empowered to use these approaches with ease.
