Course Details
In this course, we’ll explore practical interventions for both EMDR and non-EMDR therapists to support their clients in trauma healing. Taught by Polyvagal Theory expert Rebecca Kase, this training will equip you with a comprehensive toolkit of techniques for addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions, chronic pain, and more.
We’ll start with a high-level overview of Polyvagal Theory and the autonomic nervous system, focusing on how these concepts apply to clinical practice. You’ll learn how to create an autonomic blueprint with clients and integrate this understanding throughout treatment. We’ll also delve into the idea of vagal tone and explore practices that stimulate the vagus nerve, enhancing parasympathetic functioning.
The course will cover the concept of neuroception, its role in trauma triggers and symptoms, and how it impacts the counseling relationship. We’ll discuss how therapeutic presence can model a supportive, healing relationship that fosters positive clinical outcomes.
Finally, we’ll dive into specific, actionable techniques that boost vagal tone and build resilience. From breathwork and metta meditation to Rebecca Kase’s signature BASC technique, you’ll leave with a wealth of practical tools you can start using immediately.
