EMDR Certification Program

Do you love EMDR? Are you craving more knowledge and expertise to better support your clients? Are you looking for a community of like-minded trauma professionals to connect and grow alongside with?

We invite you to join our Certification Program at Kase & CO! We have developed a robust and relationally-oriented training program for EMDR Therapists to enhance their skills and knowledge in their pursuit of Certification. If you’re interested, we invite you to read on.

What is Certification?

EMDR Certification is an advanced level of training and experience beyond that of EMDR Basic Training. Think of completing EMDR Basic Training as getting a bachelor’s in EMDR, and getting EMDR Certified as getting a master’s in EMDR. You have to get the bachelor’s to go on and then pursue the master’s.

EMDR Certification is a specialty credential, overseen by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) for those in the USA and Canada. This level of advanced skill requires experience and training beyond that which you complete in EMDR Basic Training.

Please refer to the EMDRIA website for a list of separate requirements for Certification and view Certification FAQs. EMDRIA membership is not required for EMDR Certification.

EMDR Basic Training with an EMDRIA approved trainer provider must be completed prior to embarking on your EMDR Certification journey.

What is the benefit of getting Certified?

Getting Certified in EMDR is a testament to a clinician’s level of expertise and advanced skillset as it pertains to their EMDR practice. To become EMDR Certified means you have completed additional hours of training and consultation, and that you have integrity and considerable skill as an EMDR therapist. For those working in private practice, EMDR Certification speaks to your level of qualifications and competency. For those working in agencies, EMDR Certification identifies you as a lead and advanced practitioner amongst colleagues and leadership.

What’s included in the Certification Program?

We offer you a dynamic training experience that includes:

  • 10 hours of group consultation and 10 hours of individual consultation

No other group offers a Certification program that is as well rounded, structured, and organized as ours. We are especially committed to being relational, trauma informed, and providing Shame Free Spaces for Learning™. Meaning, we want it to feel safe for all participants to make mistakes and show up authentically as they are. We are deeply passionate about creating embodied, safe, and inclusive spaces for learning and connection. Beyond that, we offer an abundance of resources for you to be successful such as demonstration videos, an online library of articles and protocols, community connection, and additional perks for those in our certification program. This work can be challenging, and we want you to feel that you’re not alone and that you have all of us on staff cheering you on!

What if Kase & CO doesn’t offer an advanced training on something I want to learn to fulfill my CEs for certification?

We get that! There may be a specific topic area that is of interest to you that we do not offer. If this is the case, we have an adjusted program cost for those that do not wish to include CEs.

Unfortunately no, there are a few reasons for this. One, we want to provide a consistent and equitable experience to everyone in the program. Another is, Kase & CO has to make the recommendation to EMDRIA for certification, we need to trust we can make this recommendation wholeheartedly and within the values of Kase & CO therefore our team needs to supervise your consultation hours.

Yes, that is a required part of the program.

Yes, of course! When registering for our EMDR Certification Program, you may request to work with one of our faculty members. Please note: requests are not guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate!

The way consultations are led/conducted would be how the facilitator teaches, or guides during consultation. This could be collaborative, didactic, or any other approach. EMDRIA doesn’t consider practicum or something like an experiential within consultation as they have precise methods of how consultation should/can be conducted. Groups will have up to 4 people, meet month-to-month, and trainees are expected to engage for 10-15 minutes – come prepared!
